Des Moines AQS October 4, 2012

I went by bus again with Kathie and Sylvia. I was so excited to come home with my Janome Platnum 760 portable sewing machine. Lots more of ideas. I can't wait to get out of my day job and quilt more. I took pictures of color and machine quilting ideas.

Feel sad from Sadie working on pillow

I lost my adoptive daughter Sadie today. Good blessings come our way and she was one of them.

Sylvia's Round Robin

I finally finished this. I have been stewing over this for weeks of what to do with my round. I could not figure out what to do for expanding the shapes. The size was difficult for me to add to since it was not divisible by 2 3 4 or 6. I found a drunkards path block in my Curved Piecing book by Paulette Peters. I first added the skinny red border and then the drunkards path. I was trying to incorporate Summer Solstice theme.

I wanted to add appliqué but called Jackee to verify first and she felt it was better it keep first block as person developed.

Nebraska Quilt Guild July 27 2912

Attended with Jackie. Went to see quilt show and Jackies quilts at Boystown mothers gus. Here are 2 from show I liked.

Layout of Story Time Stars

Since I don't have a design wall, I will lay this out on the floor and take a picture. That way I will know how they should be sewn together. This is for Jackson Dennis.

Bricks for Story Time Stars

I need to sew to stop thinking about Sadie and cancer. We got the news today from Keith.

I have all of the bricks done. Even did the spin seam with pressing open seams.

I love you Sadie.

Story Time 4 patch

This is taking forever. I need 180 of these for the baby Placek quilt. I hope I get through this fast. I was able to figure out Bonnie Hunter method to split seam to spin. Love it!!
